LocalSite Studio · desktop app

Build sites for clients.
Hand over code, not logins.

LocalSite Studio is a desktop website builder for freelancers and small agencies. Every project exports as a complete codebase — real source files your client owns outright. Sites that store nothing run with no database behind them; sites that take orders or bookings export their own database and back office too, and need a host that runs them. No per-site platform fee eating your margin, no client locked into a builder they never chose.

The point

Your client keeps the code. You keep the relationship.

Site builders rent you a website. LocalSite Studio writes one: a Next.js project — pages, components, styles and images — you can zip, hand over, or deploy yourself. If you disappear tomorrow, every site you ever shipped keeps working — that is a promise you can put in your contract.

Free to build with. Pay when you ship.

The download is free and the editor is fully usable without a license — design, build and preview as many projects as you want. A license is needed for the two shipping actions: exporting the code and one-click deploy. Try the whole workflow before a dollar changes hands.

Drafting

The AI runs on your own account. We resell nobody’s tokens.

There is an assistant on the editor rail. Describe the shop and it drafts three whole directions at once: a hero written in English and Chinese together, plus the SEO title and description and the footer line. A second button turns your catalog into menu or service descriptions, again in both languages, and a right-click on any block rewrites just that block. You point it at your own account with Anthropic, OpenAI or DeepSeek, so the provider bills you directly at the provider’s price. We resell no tokens and add no margin, and on your own key there is no allowance of ours standing between you and the model.

The working loop

  1. 1
BuildStart from an industry template or a blank canvas. 15 design styles, responsive out of the box.
  2. 2
ShipExport the complete site as files, or deploy with one click to a live URL.
  3. 3
Hand overThe client gets the code and the live site. You invoice the build as yours, not as a platform subscription.
  4. 4
Keep the recurring sideOptional managed hosting at $19/month per site — charge your client your own hosting rate and keep the difference.

The math

One tool fee. Your margins on everything else.

A $2,500 build plus five client sites on managed hosting you resell at $49/month is $150/month of recurring margin on top of every project — and the tool costs $59 flat, not a percentage of any of it.

Pricing

Flat. No per-site fees, no revenue share.

Every plan is the full app: unlimited sites, unlimited exports, deploy included, 2 machine activations. The only thing that varies is how you pay.

Buy Founding

Managed hosting is optional, per site: $19/month, switched on from inside the app when a client wants you to run it.

Checkout runs on Stripe. Your license key appears on the receipt page the moment payment clears, and lands in your email — paste it into the app and you are live.

Download LocalSite Studio

Free download. Build without a license — you only need one to export or deploy.

Version 1.2.5

LocalSite Studio is distributed directly rather than through an app store, so the first launch takes one extra click. Mac, macOS 14 and earlier: right-click the app → Open → Open. macOS 15 and later: open once to dismiss the notice, then System Settings → Privacy & Security → "Open Anyway". Windows: "More info" → "Run anyway". The app never asks for admin rights.

Straight answers

What happens if my subscription lapses?

The editor keeps working and nothing you built is touched. Export and deploy pause until you renew. Sites you already shipped are files on your (or your client’s) hosting — they never depended on your subscription.

How many machines can I use?

Each license activates on 2 machines — a desktop and a laptop. Need it moved? Write to support and we release the old seat.

How do I get my license after paying?

The key shows on the receipt page right after checkout and is emailed to you. In the app: Deploy or Export → License → paste.

Can I cancel? Is the lifetime license really lifetime?

Subscriptions cancel anytime from the app via the Stripe billing portal — no email required, effective at period end. The Founding license is a one-time purchase: it never renews and never expires.
