Closed sign maker
The sign for the door when you are not there: pick what happened — closed today, temporarily closed, holidays, a private event, back at a time — say when you reopen, and print. Add a QR code that points to your website or social page so the sign keeps up when the plan changes.

Print and “Save as PDF” are the same browser dialog — choose the PDF destination for a file. The PNG comes out at 3,200 pixels on its long side.
The sign never leaves this page. No upload, no account, no copy kept anywhere.
What a closed sign has to say
- When you are back. The person at the door already knows you are closed; the one line they want is “Back Monday 9:00” or “Reopening Jan 2”. Put it in large type.
- Five presets, one field each. Closed today, temporarily closed, closed for the holidays, private event, back at a time — each sets a headline and a subline you can rewrite.
- The QR code should point at a page you can change: your website’s home page or hours section, or your Instagram — not a PDF. When the reopening date moves, edit the page; the sign on the door stays right.
- Portrait for a door, landscape for a shop window. The bold style, dark with orange type, is the one that reads from across the street.
The page that QR code points at is the one place a closure can be corrected after you have locked up and gone home. Whether that takes a minute or an evening is worth knowing before you need it — the editor loads in this tab on a working site, with no install and no sign-up. You pay only when you publish, from $49 a month with your own domain.

What should a closed sign say?
Three things, in this order: that you are closed, why in a few words if it helps (“private event” is useful, a family matter is nobody’s business), and when you reopen. Add a phone number or a website only if someone will actually answer or update it. Skip the apology paragraph — nobody reads it from the sidewalk.
How do I make a temporarily closed sign?
Choose the “Temporarily closed” preset, type the reopening date if you know it or leave that line blank if you do not, then add the QR code pointing to your website or social page and print. Update that page as the situation changes instead of reprinting.
Should I mark my business as temporarily closed on Google?
If the closure runs more than a few days, yes — Google Business Profile has a “temporarily closed” status that keeps your listing while telling searchers the truth. For a day or two, set special hours for those dates instead. Both are free and take a minute in the profile settings.
Does the QR code expire?
No. It is a plain link encoded in the pattern on this page; there is no service in the middle and nothing to renew. It works for as long as the page it points to exists, which is why it should point to a page you control.
